Reminder of What I Said in Class about the Data in Question 3 (Final Exam)

t^s and t^ʃ are both affricates: t^s is an alveolar affricate and t^ʃ is postalveolar. As I said in class, affricates are distinguished by being [+delayed release] and if you check the chapter on distinctive features, you'll see that there is a feature to distinguish [s] and [ʃ], which will also distinguish the two affricates.
